      <image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>Colin King is an American stylist, designer, and creative director whose work has come to define a distinct language of modern interiors rooted in restraint, atmosphere, and emotional precision. As a sought-after interiors stylist for leading brands and publications, King has helped shape a distinct language of modern American design. As the founder of Colin King Studio, his practice spans styling, creative direction, product design, and installation, guided by a belief that what we place, and how we place it, shapes how we feel. King began his career as a professional dancer in New York City, an experience that continues to inform his work through a sensitivity to composition, movement, and stillness. He later transitioned into interiors, working across design firms in content creation and art direction, where he developed a nuanced understanding of visual storytelling and spatial rhythm. He is Artistic Director of Marrakech-based rug company BENI, where he leads the brand’s creative direction, shaping its visual language across collections, campaigns, and narrative, grounded in a deep respect for heritage craft. A regular contributor to publications including Architectural Digest, T Magazine, ELLE DECOR, and Ark Journal, King has become a defining voice in contemporary design. His first book, Arranging Things (Rizzoli), offers a deeply personal look at his intuitive approach to creating spaces. In recent years, King has expanded his practice into product design and writing. His collaboration with Zara Home introduced a series of sculptural objects that reflect his signature balance of form and feeling. He is also the author of The Last Layer, a Substack exploring the subtleties of styling, mood, and the quiet decisions that shape a space. Through his work, King continues to explore how interiors can move beyond function to become a form of emotional architecture, where even the smallest gesture holds meaning.</image:caption>
